The Principle of Past, Present, Future: Learn from the past, live in the present, look to or (believe in) the future.

Today can be whatever you make of it. It matters little what is going on around you or even what is going on inside you. Today is a gift that we are meant to spend wisely. Many people choose to get up each morning, look around at their circumstances and throw up their arms in despair. They get discouraged by what is happening around them and feel that it is no use to even try.

Learn From Your Past

  • Friday, 22 February 2008 12:30

Many times we refuse to realize the benefits we have gained by the lessons we have learned. The past is our greatest resource if we choose to treat it that way. If we can recognize the lessons we have learned, good and bad, and apply them to today then we will be able to handle the challenges of today more efficiently and put ourselves on an upward spiral of improvement.

I speak to many people who have had unfortunate pasts. They have made mistakes and have suffered from those mistakes. They seem to be stuck in a spot were they make the same mistakes over and over. They have not learned this important principle and will more than likely never get out of their rut.

I also see people who have had very successful pasts. These people tend to think that the successes of yesterday can propel them into the future. They have stopped making living for today and planning for the future an important part of their lives. They to are in a rut and are very likely to stay there.

Whether your past has been something you’d rather not remember or an experience you’d like to share with the world, you must remember that without taking the lessons learned and applying them today you will remain in a rut. So learn from your past and keep moving forward into tomorrow while all the time living for today.
