15 Fundamentals To A Successful Life

The Principle of Success: What is success and how do you get it?

The Principle of Faith: Restoration comes from faith in a power greater than myself.

The Principle of Powerlessness: My ability to change anything is limited to self, when trying to control situations and people my life will spin out of control.

The Principle of Will: The Choice of God's Will over my own is imperative.

The Principle of Daily Renewal: I need to take daily note of my actions, reactions and beliefs.

The Principle of Confession: I need to confess my weakness and misbehaviors to myself, God and another trusted confidant.

The Principle of Character: Daily I choose to identify and eliminate character flaws and fortify my character strengths.

The Principle of Forgiveness: Life is substantially improved when I forgive others promptly and seek forgiveness for my wrongs.

The Principle Reparations: I need to list people who I have offended in the past and make a genuine effort to make reparations.

The Principle of Prayer (&Spirituality): I must be in consistent and constant discussion with God as His thoughts become my own and His ways envelop my being.

The Principle of Generosity: It is my responsibility to give to others the gift I've been given, a spiritual life full of successful living.

The Principle of Physical Activity & Diet: Proper diet and exercise will give you the fuel you need to complete the other fundamentals in the program.

The Principle of Past, Present, Future: Learn from the past, live in the present, look to or (believe in) the future.

The Principle Of Vision: The difference between goals and vision and how you can set a life vision that's right for you.

The Principle of Daily Living: Reviewing the program and practicing all of the fundamentals every single day.

I do not pretend to give such a Sum; I only lend it to you. When you [...] meet with another honest Man in similar Distress, you must pay me by lending this Sum to him; enjoining him to discharge the Debt by a like operation, when he shall be able, and shall meet with another opportunity. I hope it may thus go thro' many hands, before it meets with a Knave that will stop its Progress. -- Benjamin Franklin

  • Friday, 13 June 2008 23:43

The Principle of Forgiveness & Reparations: Life is substantially improved when I forgive others promptly and seek forgiveness for my wrongs. I also need to make reparations for all harm done.

Why We Hold On To Character Flaws

  • Wednesday, 30 April 2008 00:00

The Principle of Character: Daily I choose to identify and eliminate character flaws and fortify my character strengths.

Removing character flaws from our lives is sometimes a difficult process. There are many reasons why we may choose to hold on to a character flaw in spite of the pain and turmoil it causes in our lives. Here are 3 of the biggest reasons:

  1. We don’t view it as a character flaw.
  2. We are unaware of it.
  3. We think it will be too painful to remove it.

Picking The Right Person

The Principle of Confession: I need to confess my weakness and misbehaviors to myself, God and another trusted confidant.

Many people who go through our program find this fundamental difficult. Not that the others aren’t; remember that anything worth having takes courage, hard work and discipline. This fundamental though is unique in the fact that you are exposing all of your weaknesses and faults to God (who already knows everything we have already done or thought) and another person.

Daily Renewal As A Habit

  • Monday, 21 April 2008 00:00
The Principle of Daily Renewal: I need to take daily note of my actions, reactions and beliefs.

Daily renewal is a difficult process for many people. It involves sitting down and reviewing your past, whether it is the past 24-hour or the past 24 years. It involves honesty and discipline. It takes the courage to face the harm that you have or may have caused. It takes a real leveling of your pride and ego. It takes the strength and commitment to make things right and admit that you were wrong. It lifts people up and shows them you care.

Free Will

The Principle of Will: The Choice of God’s Will over my own is imperative.

We were created with free will. That is a good thing. We are able to make decisions based on our needs and wants. We have instincts that God gave us to protect us and keep us from harm. We have the ability to choose many different paths or directions in life and we can adopt whatever beliefs we want too.
